A non-profit association (under the French 1901 Law) that contributes to sustainable development in Senegal by partnering with local communities, associations, and educational and health structures. The association primarily collects unused or refurbished medical equipment from French hospitals (including CHRU de Tours) for donation. Led by hospital biomedical engineers, it has been a driving force in the cooperation between CHRU and HOGIP in Dakar, providing extensive medical equipment.
This association facilitates the treatment at CHRU de Tours of children with rare craniofacial malformations (Crouzon Syndrome, Pfeiffer Syndrome, Apert Syndrome, Hypertelorism) who could not be operated on in their home countries due to a lack of resources, specialized medical facilities, or healthcare professionals. The agreement with CHRU de Tours enables children from various countries to receive care from the maxillofacial surgery and pediatric neurosurgery departments.
An international NGO founded in 1994, dedicated to strengthening health systems to provide equal opportunities for survival and development, particularly for children. The pediatric cardiology department of CHRU de Tours has long been involved in cooperation with this NGO, both for patient care at CHRU and supporting the development of pediatric cardiac surgery in Burkina Faso. Dr. Paul Neuville oversees the Chain of Hope programs for Burkina Faso.
This association supports the development of pediatric neurosurgery in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Senegal). The neurosurgery team at CHRU has collaborated with them since 2007, conducting on-site interventions and training local staff. Thanks to this partnership, local surgical and anesthesia teams in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) have gained sufficient autonomy to operate on children. A long-standing agreement also exists between CHRU de Tours and the association for the transfer of medical equipment.
Face Au Monde – Un visage pour la vie ! is a non-profit organisation founded in 2003 that works in favour of treating facial deformities for children worldwide. It allows these children to access care in France and elsewhere, by implementing financial, human and material means. It has a partnership with the maxillofacial surgery unit of the CHRU of Tours to promote the advancement of knowledge and approaches.
